Renewable Energy Institute of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine
Renewable Energy Institute of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine (REI NAS of Ukraine) has been established at the Physics and Technology Problems of Energy Sector Department of NAS of Ukraine to further develop and coordinate the research into renewable energy sources and ensure the use of the research results pursuant to Resolution No.299 of NAS of Ukraine Presidium dated 2003. Director of the Institute is a laureate of the State Prize of Ukraine in science and technology domain, Corresponding Member of NAS of Ukraine, Doctor of Engineering Science, professor, Nver Mhitaryan.
Besides the undisputable academic standing and leading positions in the scientific developments and scaling up the use of renewable energy sources in industrial, municipal and agricultural sectors, REI NAS of Ukraine is a co-founder of the Renewable Energy Sources Department at the National Technical University “Kyiv Polytechnic Institute” and takes an active part in training highly skilled sectoral specialists. The Institute initiated the Project development and is the first co-implementing unit for UNIDO-GEF Technical Assistance Project on the part of the National Academy of Sciences system.
